Kinyra

This site is known since the antiquity and is sited in the texts of Herodotus as “Enira” and “Kinyra”. At a place called today “Loutrou” (bath place), it is said that concubine of antiquity “Nais” took her bath, on her way to Corinth. Ruins of Byzantine baths as well as the ruins of an old Christian Basilica are found in “Loutrou”. At this site of Thassos there were in the ancient times the gold mines of the island. Hotels, bungalows, rooms to let, restaurants and fish taverns are at the tourists disposal. The coasts with the colourful pebbles and the rich sand offer unforgettable moments to the tourists. Near Kinyra one can find the beach Paradise, well known for its charming landscape and clear sea.
